Rådmansö is a peninsula about 10 km east of Norrtälje. In just an hour from Stockholm you drive here by car. Buses are also available from Norrtälje. E18 takes you here and ends at Kapellskär, which is known for its ferry terminal with ferries to Åland.
In Gräddö you can stroll around trails filled with raspberry.
Another famous part of Rådmansö is Gräddö, where the picturesque harbor looks out towards Roslagens scenic archipelago. Here is a small town center with ICA and a pizzeria. At the harbor there is ice cream and kayak rentals. Also nearby is Räfsnäs which operates Waxholmferries for further trips out into the Archipelago.
There are plenty of nature beaches, such as the one at Riddersholm Nature reserve.
Excursions in the immediate area
There are plenty of excursion opportunities from Rådmansö Skogshöjd. In addition to the nearby bathing area, there are many natural beaches. The very finest are at the Riddersholm Nature Reserve, about 10 minutes drive from the house.
If you get tired of sun and bath, there are several nature trails for jogging trips. Or maybe craving coffee or lunch? The juiciest buns and stone baked sourdough bread are bought at Rådmansö bakery nearby.
Coffee from handicraft Rådmansö bageri is a hit.
Waxholms ferry or Åland ferry
From Räfsnäs you take the Waxholms boat to the whole archipelago. A short boat ride takes you to Lidö, where the renowned host house serves fish and locally produced meals. Or why not discover Tjockö and take a bath from the Islands many cliffs? There is also a little ice cream shop on the island. If you want to discover Åland, there are ferries from Kapellskär that will take you there in about two hours.
